November in Chicago has been off to a very mild start which made this weekend pretty glorious. We all played hooky on Friday and headed into the city for the parade honoring the Chicago Cubs’ first world championship in 108 years. Insanity ensued and the reported crowd size was over 5 million people. I’m so happy we got to partake in the celebration and even happier to have made it home in one piece! With temps in the 60’s the entire weekend was pretty spectacular. However, judging by the extended forecast our days are numbered, so today I’m showing you my secret to staying warm while still looking stylish during the colder months!

Looking Great, Staying Warm

“Sure”, you say, we already know that we need a stockpile of cozy knits and soft blanket scarves to get through the winter. Duh. But I’ve got you covered with a layering trick that will not only keep you warmer, but allow those sweater dresses that you aren’t sure how to pull off in the cold, stay out of hiding. In the past, I was never sure how to style my sweater dresses that seemed too heavy for fall and spring, without freezing! Until last year when I discovered Secret Silky tights. These aren’t your grandmother’s pantyhose, ladies. Secret Silky tights are department store quality at a fraction of the price and come in a vast assortment of styles, weights and support levels. They are my secret weapon for keeping warm as the weather cools.

AND Secret Silky has been kind enough to giveaway 5 pairs of their most popular hosiery to W&R readers! You can enter at the bottom of this post.

Proportion Control

Without the over the knee boots this sweater would have been too short to wear as a dress, but the boots help to balance out the proportions nicely. I scooped up my sweater from ASOS last winter, but I’ve linked a bunch of awesome options. I’m actually thinking about ordering this one as well:) I’ve really been trying to make an effort to shop my closet more and really pare down what I don’t wear on a regular basis. With that being said, I did order these boots over the weekend. They are basically a heeled version of the pair I have on here. I’ve been ogling them for long enough to be sure that they are something that I’d really like and not just a passing whim;)

All entrants must be 18 and residents of the continental United States. Thanks for entering and good luck!
