Fall has arrived a few weeks ago, but with plenty of rain and warm days the fall colors have been slow to bestow their beauty upon us. Yesterday, the first of November, was a balmy 75 degrees! Not that I’m complaining, for I’m certain that our days are numbered. Before you know it, the holidays will be here.
So as my friend Ashley said as we shot yesterday, “Thank goodness for color”. And its true. Taking a little time to enjoy the beauty around us is never a bad idea.
Thanksgiving is just 22 days away…
If your family is anything like mine, we keep our holidays, particularly Thanksgiving, pretty casual. I like to be comfy for the big meal and typically wear something like the outfit in these photos: a cozy, oversized sweater, my favorite jeans and a statement accessory like these snakeskin boots. Super comfortable, but still chic and pulled together. And the best part? Other than the boots, each of the piece she in this look are under $30:) In fact, the jeans and sweater are under $20 and I was able to find a near perfect dupe for my boots for under $45. Get. It. Done.
I had quite a few questions about this sweater when I posted it on Instagram. I wanted to wear it a couple of times before I gave my honest opinion. Because the price point is so low, I was worried that the quality wouldn’t be there. However, I’m please to report that I couldn’t have been more wrong! Its held up to the washing machine and still looks great. So frequently, oversized knits with great texture are far out of my price range, so to find an option that I love for under $20 made my month. {I sized up to achieve this fit.} Now fingers crossed that they add a few more colors:)
