For reference, I’m 5’7″ with a long torso and long legs. I typically wear a 27 or 28 in jeans or a size 4/6. My bra size is a 34D, and I typically wear a size medium top but sometimes size down for a more tailored fit or a large for a more oversized fit. If I own the item I will always list my size and any recommendations I have for sizing up or down for quick reference. (TTS= true to size!)

First of all, let’s talk about these $22 straight leg jeans! The fit is incredible. They remind me of a really good pair of Levi’s but more comfortable. I love the distressing, high-rise and hidden button fly. The ankle length is perfect and they are right on trend.
Now, let’s talk about the most flattering shoes to wear with straight leg jeans.
Truly, almost any shoe will work with straight leg jeans. The only shoe to avoid is a taller boot worn over the jeans as this can just look frumpy. Otherwise here are a couple of hacks to style everything from sneakers to booties to dressier shoes with your straight leg jeans. Tip: Make sure there is space between the hem of your jeans and the top of your shoe. This can be achieved with a cropped fit or by cutting or cuffing the hem. Showing a little ankle makes the look much more flattering.
Sneakers: Sneakers are probably my favorite shoes to wear with straight leg jeans. I love wearing sneakers with straight leg jeans for that effortless cool girl vibe. Keep the look casual with a simple tee or dress it up more with a pretty blouse.
Flats: Flats look great with straight leg jeans and can elevate your look. This comfy pair from Amazon also adds a feminine touch. Heels also work great with straight leg jeans, I just haven’t been wearing any lately!
Boots/Booties: Boots that fit more tightly to the ankle (see below) look great with straight leg jeans and it doesn’t look too frumpy with the hem of the jeans hanging slightly over the top of the boot. If the booties don’t fit quite as tightly to the ankle I simply cuff my jeans to create a little space between the hem and the top of the shoe.

These jeans are the exact same fit as the blue distressed pair above and are also just $22!! The wash is so good and they have a really fun, slightly edgy vibe to them. I styled them here with two different pairs of booties. The combat style on the left fits tightly to the ankle, so the hem of the jeans doesn’t look to frumpy hanging slightly over the top of the boot.
The booties on the right don’t fit quite as tightly to the ankle so I cuffed them to create a little space. In my opinion, it is just more flattering to show a little ankle with this style bootie.

Now, let’s talk about the most flattering tops to wear with straight leg jeans.
As with shoes, when choosing a top to style with straight leg jeans it’s all about balance. My favorite tops to wear with straight leg jeans are a fitted style, a blouse or a cropped/boxy fitting top. I like how a fitted tee or a pretty blouse tucked into a pair of straight leg jeans define the waist and create shape.

A more cropped or boxy style tee or sweater has a similar effect of creating shape and balance with straight leg jeans. This style is also very on trend for spring. And the higher rise of most straight leg jeans means that you aren’t baring any midriff! The only top that I tend to avoid is a longer tunic top because your shape just kind of gets lost. When in doubt, an easy front tuck (shown below) is always flattering and creates definition at the waist.
