One of the biggest running themes that I noticed both preparing for and attending NYFW, was that the bell sleeve trend is going nowhere. In fact, the bigger the better. What started as almost avant garde has made its way to the masses.
The Perfect Bell Sleeve Blouse
As soon as my ticket for New York was booked, I started my hunt for a dramatic option to take along. I actually didn’t have to look far and although I was prepared to invest a little money into this particular trend, I was able to find exactly what I was looking for at under $25! Truly, Shein has been kind of killing it lately. I feel like its sort of a bloggers’ best kept secret at this point; the quality and sizing has improved and many {not all, but many} of the pieces are pretty spot on.
Head to Toe Flares
If you’ve been reading W&R for long you know that I’m no slave to trends. However, this was one that I just couldn’t pass up. I love that it can be translated in a very minimalist and wearable way. This exact blouse could be paired with so many wardrobe staples, or even layered under a short sleeve sweater or sleeveless shift. For this outfit I kept the drama going from head to toe and added my favorite dark-wash flared jeans. Don’t let the photo on the website fool you; these jeans are amazing! They are just like these, at about 1/7th of the price.
NYFW: In Summary
This will be my last post on fashion week so I’d like to share my feelings about the whole experience in a nutshell. Was it amazing? Yes! Inspiring? Absolutely! What really made the experience for me though was getting to go with one of my favorite people. We had fun and didn’t take the whole thing too seriously. Because truthfully, if we had, I don’t think it would have been nearly the experience that it was. It can be overwhelming and busy and exhausting. We literally spent our last night in our hotel beds eating room service, drinking wine and watching The Devil Wears Prada! And in all honesty, I wouldn’t have had it any other way.
