Have you ever fallen in love with a super feminine piece but been unsure of how to style it without looking overly girly? Lately, I’ve been loving mixing feminine pieces with more masculine or utilitarian pieces. When I first spotted this ruffled skirt from Who What Wear for Target it was love at first sight but the combination of the pale blush shade {which, depending on your skin tone, can be honestly difficult to pull off} and the flirty ruffles almost felt too girly to be wearable.
I first paired it with black over the knee boots for an evening event, but now that the weather has finally warmed up, I styled the ruffles with my favorite utility jacket, a summer sweater, simple nude heels and my favorite chain crossbody. This little bag is always a show-stopper. It’s the ultimate Chloe ‘Drew’ dupe and I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been stopped to ask if it’s the real deal. Believe it or not, this snakeskin bag came in under $30 and I’m so excited to see that lots of other colors have been added to the site as well!
Also, fun fact, pink and green are opposite on the color wheel, which mean they complement each other perfectly! These two neutrals may not be the first that you would put together in your head but they totally work! And a utility jacket is a definite summer must-have. A chic utilitarian alternative to the denim jacket that can be thrown on over everything from dresses to cut-offs. I’ve linked my favorites for you below!
And lets not just quickly gloss over the fact that this skirt is part of the Who What Wear for Target collaboration that has everyone abuzz. I wasn’t so sure when I saw the lookbook, but since then, I’ve picked up, not only this ruffled skirt, but also this dress in white and these chambray shorts in blue.
