Happy Monday guys! After a bit of a rough week, I’m doing my best to start this one off with a positive outlook. Ashley reminded me that Mercury has been in retrograde and that we had a full moon over the weekend, so that’s got to mean that things are turning around, right? Today I’m back with another post from my Rent The Runway series {see my other looks here and here}. I’m featuring various dresses that would be perfect to wear to a summer wedding or any other formal event that you might have on your calendar in the coming months. And I was incredibly lucky to shoot most of these looks among Chicago Botanic’s stunning flower gardens.
Out of all of the beautiful dresses that I was fortunate enough to style, this one was an unexpected favorite. I actually almost selected a different dress in its place, but the moment I tried it on I didn’t want to take it off. The silhouette is so feminine and flirty. I love the hi-lo hemline and the fabric is the perfect weight. The pink and gold flower brocade isn’t something that I would normally gravitate toward but its just so pretty in person. But what cinches the deal is the way this dress moves. Honestly, its the most elegant I think I’ve ever felt.
I chose to keep the rest of my accessories pretty minimal with a blush clutch and nude heels and let the dress take center stage. However I did choose one breathtaking statement ring by Oscar de la Renta. I was so very sad to return this floral ring that can only be described as a work of art! And these heels guys…under $30 and a dead ringer for the Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ sandals. Plus super comfy! Your welcome:)
If you’re local to Chicago, or plan on visiting, do yourself a favor and take an escape from the city to visit Chicago Botanic Gardens. The flower gardens are in bloom and the forecast is perfect. Pack a picnic and go! I promise you won’t regret it.
Do you have any fun summer events coming up? I’d love to hear!
