Fall is my favorite time of year to wear dresses because they are just so fun to style during the fall months! Your basic dresses become a whole new animal when you can suddenly pair them with jackets and boots and cardigans. So today I’m sharing the best fall dresses under $40 along with a myriad of ways to style them that you may not have thought of before. Hopefully this post will give you a little inspiration!
Styling Dresses in the Fall
In my opinion, styling dresses in the fall is much more fun than in the summer because there are just so many options to play with. When you’re less restricted by temperature, you can start to have a lot of fun with layers and accessories. I also tend to gravitate toward shorter dresses in the fall because the proportion seems to work better when layering.
Here are some styling ideas for your favorite fall dresses:
- Pair with booties and a long cardigan.
- Pair with over the knee boots and add a moto jacket.
- Layer a loose turtleneck sweater over the top.
- Layer on a jean jacket and wear with sneakers.
- Belt a poncho over the top.
- Layer on a graphic sweatshirt and wear with sneakers.
- Wear with leggings or tights.
