I scooped up this delicate slip dress on a whim about two years ago simply because of its beautiful details. The layered asymmetrical hemline, the delicate lace inset and the intricate strap detail were just too much to walk away from. However, even as I left the store I was asking myself where in the world I would wear this dress? My life doesn’t exactly lend itself to slip dresses, ya know?
So I was just a little giddy when the 90’s trend of layering dresses over tees came back with a bang this summer. Not only does this styling make a slip dress dress perfect for day, but its incredibly fun to accessorize as well.
For this look I kept things monochromatic grey and silver, adding simple silver tassel flats and silver accessories, including this stunning hammered cuff from Uncommon Goods. I stumbled upon Uncommon Goods last year when looking for a gift for a close friend. Not only did I find a beautiful necklace that was perfect for her unique style, I also learned what an incredible company they really are.
Look Good, Do Good. Be Uncommon.
Consequently, Uncommon Goods has become a go-to for me when looking for unique and beautiful gifts for the special people in my life. So when they contacted me about working together, I was pretty much over the moon. As I’ve touched on in previous posts, I love working with companies and small businesses who seek to exist in harmony with the environment and who demonstrate great strength of character.
Responsible shopping has become increasingly important to me. Much of what Uncommon Goods carries is created right here in the USA, and about one-third of their entire collection incorporates recycled and/or upcycled materials. Not only can you find the perfect gift knowing that you are supporting creative integrity, but in doing so, you are supporting a retailer that has donated over $1 million to charities around the world!
Look good, do good. Kind of a no-brainer.
