I Stumbled Upon a Secret Free People Scout Jacket Lookalike — and It’s Just $34
The Scout jacket is one of Free People’s most popular products but at $128 it’s a splurge. So it’s no surprise that it’s spawned a slew of look for less styles. Recently, I stumbled across not one, but TWO look lookalikes that you have to see to believe! These lightweight shackets are great for layering and right on-trend.
Free People Scout Jacket Lookalike Option One in Dark Grey
When I ordered this Free People Scout look for less from Amazon it was not shipping Prime and took nearly two months to arrive. Now, it ships Prime, comes in eight colors and is just $34. Reviews were mixed but I was hopeful. However, when it finally arrived I was super pleased! The fabric is not as soft and slouchy but it’s well made, has the same contrasting details and gauzy raw hem fabric behind the buttons.
The Yanekop waffle knit shacket is priced at $34, ships Prime and I sized up two sizes to XL. Reviews are mixed on this but it seems as though the product may have been improved over time. It’s definitely a keeper for me!
Free People Scout Jacket Lookalike Option Two in Green
The stock photo on this one makes it look identical to the popular Scout jacket. Additionally, it’s made by the same brand that makes the spot-on look for less of the Free People Ruby Jacket. So to say I had high hopes would be a bit of an understatement. All in all, it’s not bad and from a distance, it definitely looks like the real deal. The waffle knit is also a little smaller scale and the fabric a little stiffer, but I love this sage green color and it feels like it will hold up well.
The Fisoew waffle knit shacket is priced at $45, ships Prime and I’m wearing my true size medium. One review says: “Obsessed with this. It’s oversized, soft and super flattering. It definitely looks like FP. I need more colors.”
This is the authentic Free People Scout jacket. It’s definitely a softer fabric with a more pronounced waffle-knit texture, but it’s also a little harder to wear. It’s a very wide fit so I would recommend sizing down if you purchase. I got a medium and it’s honestly too big. It’s definitely worth it if you plan to wear it very frequently. But if you’re looking for an on-trend shacket, I’d stick with the options above!
