Now more than ever, we all need to take care of ourselves. During these times of stress and uncertainty, self-care has never been more important. So today I’m sharing some of the products that make me feel my best.
Ok guys, here’s the deal. We are all stuck home and it sucks. I feel lethargic and unmotivated and emotional. And I know I’m not the only one. But today I’m going to get my mojo back. I’m going to shave my legs, put on some self-tanner and some real clothes. Ok, who am I kidding, I’m still going to be in joggers, but at least not the same pair I slept in the night before.
Here is a run-down of products and ideas to put into use now, you might just have some extra time on your hands.
Self-Care Essentials
Silk Pillowcase – This affordable luxury is a must-have for self-care. It’s excellent for your skin and hair and just feels so luxurious to sleep on. I find that I wake up with fewer lines from sleeping and my hair is less frizzy. It comes in 20 colors and ships Prime.
Comfortable Joggers – These joggers are super soft and comfy and can be worn around the house now and out and about later. They come in a bunch of colors and fit TTS.
Cozy Cardigan – This cardigan definitely lives up to its hype and is totally worth the splurge! It’s super soft and luxurious feeling. I promise you won’t want to take it off.
Dip Nail Kit – I haven’t personally tried this and am using this time to let my nails heal from having had dip polish on them for over a year. But it looks easy enough to use and doesn’t require a UV light. There are also instructions listed on how to remove the polish.
Personal Microderm Abrasion Device – I reviewed the PMD a while back and continue to sing its praises. It’s the holy grail of self-care reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and enlarged pores, allowing makeup to go on smoother and skin-care products to penetrate significantly deeper. The PMD offers the same results as professional, in-office microdermabrasion treatments without the hassle. And it also comes with a full range of exfoliation discs for maximized control and customizable treatments.
Foot File – There is something about this tool that is just so satisfying! It scrapes away all the dry cracked skin and works quickly. I’m seriously beyond impressed with this product. I’ve never had dry or cracked heels until recently and I’ve tried everything I could find to get rid of them. It’s honestly even better than a professional pedicure. A total self-care must.
Foot Cream – Ok after you’ve grated off all of the cracked dead skin on your feet, it’s time to moisturize! This calming, restorative foot cream relieves extremely dry, cracked feet while you sleep. I had visible results in just one night.
Cozy Slippers – During this time I haven’t been able to stop buying cozy slippers. I’ve ordered both of the pairs linked below and just love them. I love the hard soles on these and they don’t make my feet sweat. I’m telling you girls, slippers are the new sneaker.
Dry Shampoo – Living Proof Perfect Hair Day is the holy grail of dry shampoos. It literally cleans the hair. It absorbs oil, sweat, and odor and makes hair look, feel, and smell clean. It’s the next best thing to washing your hair.
Face Shavers – These little miracle workers are SO great for dermaplaning! They’re very inexpensive so I use them once and then throw them out. You’ll want to use some type of oil so the razor glides over your skin. You will be amazed, and kind of grossed out, by the sheer amount of hair and dead skin that you will remove the first time you dermaplane.
Cute Pajamas – If we have to be stuck inside we might as well have on our cutest jammies. This little loungewear set is perfect for lounging around the house or to sleep in. It comes in several patterns but I love the tie-dye options. I’m linking several other cute sets below.
Face Masks – I don’t mean the ones, that cover your mouth and nose, although those are a must if you are going anywhere. Give yourself a little at-home facial with your favorite mask. These keep collagen synthesis up, as well as retaining skin moisture. AH provides antioxidant defense against free-radical damage and reduces inflammation
Sunless Tanner – I am pretty fair-skinned but I feel like I look healthier and even a little thinner when I have sunless tanner on. I always apply it with the mitt I linked below, which makes application a breeze.
Lash Serum – I just started using this, so I can’t yet speak to the results. It has well over 3,000 4-5 star reviews on Amazon and costs less than a single eyelash extension application. It’s a favorite for helping to enhance short, thinning, or brittle lashes. and is ophthalmologist tested.
