Layering for Spring
Spring has been slow to arrive in the Windy City so I’ve had to a little creative in adding spring elements to my wardrobe. You might remember this camisole from when I styled in for a casual date night. Today, I’m pairing it with spring denim and a lighter palette. I’ve been on the hunt for a wrap sweater for ages and am completely obsessed with this cozy option from Loft. It’s on super sale right now and I just know it’s one of those pieces that I’ll wear year round!
Spring Denim Trends
Speaking of spring denim there’s a few spring denim trends that are worth keeping in mind as you shop for spring.
- Released Hem – the raw hem, or released hem like on the jeans that I’m wearing has been a popular trend that carried over from last year.
- Ankle Length – ankle length his just above the ankle, and are perfect to pair with all of your favorite summer shoes.
- Button Fly – this is one of my favorite new trends and a total throwback to my middle school days!
- Mid to High Rise – I’ve embraced this one entirely and cannot imagine going back to the low-rise days. So much more mom-friendly too!
- Color – I’m not completely sold on this one but I’ve been seeing pastel denim everywhere. Pastels usually aren’t my friend since I’m pretty fair skinned but I can see how they would beautifully complement a tan.
