Searching for Spring
It’s hard to believe that spring is just a few weeks away! The weather in the midwest is still decidedly chilly and layering is key. Yet I can’t resist adding a few new pieces to my wardrobe in preparation for warmer weather and an upcoming vacation. I mentioned last week that I’ve found tons of spring essentials on Amazon recently and today I’m sharing some additional basics that are must-have’s for a transitional spring wardrobe. Pieces that you can wear now and wear into summer.
Transitional Spring Wardrobe Must-Have’s
- Long Sleeve tees: Long sleeve tees are a great basic that can be worn with jeans and sweaters not and with shorts as the weather warms up. I love this swingy henley. It comes in tons of colors and will be adorable with a bralette peaking out and shorts in the summer, or even over a swimsuit.
- White Sneakers: I’ve developed a slight obsession with plain white sneakers. They just seem to add that effortless West Coast cool girl factor to any outfit. Plus they are super comfy, so it’s a win-win. I wear them with jeans, shorts, dresses, pretty much anything! You can’t go wrong with these basics, and of course the Adidas Superstars are also incredibly popular.
- New Denim: The spring is a great time to pick up some new jeans largely because they’re tons of sale options available as stores make room for shorts. I’m loving the raw hem styles and the ankle length options. Mine are on sale for under $40 from Abercrombie and I also picked up this pair.
- Sweaters: This might seem like an odd thing to have on a spring wardrobe list, but stick with me. I wear cardigans like this year round. I’m perpetually freezing in the a/c and also love having sweaters to layer on with shorts and dresses on chilly evenings. I also picked up this one which can even be worn off the shoulder with a bralette.
