Happy Monday, friends! Did you stay up late watching the Super Bowl? As I type this, I’m looking out the window at the snow falling down and wishing for warmer weather, or at least that our upcoming vacation to Mexico comes quickly!
An Easy and Warm Valentine’s Day Outfit
On to today’s post! Last week I posted some Valentine’s Day outfit inspiration that ran the gamut from casual to dressy. Today I’m sharing an, easy and cozy look that’s appropriate for a casual Valentine’s Day celebration. An easy and warm Valentine’s Day outfit, because if you live anywhere in the midwest, Northeast or many other locations, its simply not warm enough for a dress and heels (although if it was, I would definitely be wearing this dress!).
I previous styled this ruffled poncho with a sweater dress and OTK boots, and its proved to be one of the most versatile pieces in my wardrobe this winter. Mine sold out over the holiday’s but I’ve found the exact same piece for under $30, it comes in 5 colors and has amazing reviews. It can be worn as a wrap or a scarf and is perfect for traveling.
For this outfit, I paired it with skinny jeans, booties and a Vday-appropriate bag, and am choosing to believe my hubby when he says that a cozy outfit can still be sexy;)
Casual Stay-In Valentine’s Day Ideas
If you’re like us, we would rather stay home on Valentine’s Day and have a date-night in. It sort of feels like New Year’s Eve, or “amateur night”. Here are some suggestions for an at-home date night.
- Make your significant other their favorite meal and add champagne or their favorite wine.
- Cook a meal together and eat by candle light.
- Recreate your first date at home.
- Have a movie night complete with popcorn cuddled up on the couch.
- Play trivia and make the questions about each other.
