Alright, not gonna lie guys, the bare leg days are over. But, with that being said, you could still totally pull this look off with either over the knee boots or tights. (Or see my post on how to style a dress with jeans – no, really, its a thing.)

Don’t pack away those summer dresses just yet…

Every year, I gather up all of my frilly dresses to be packed away for winter, only to immediately pull them out again. I just love the juxtaposition of a flirty ruffled dress with the more structured and tailored pieces I wear in the fall and winter months.

You may remember how I styled this dress back in July. You might also remember that I was a bit trepidatious about purchasing this dress because it seemed a little bold for me. Well, months later and my love affair is still going strong. I’m telling you guys, a fun dress is the way a minimalist girl adds print mixing into the mix!

How to Style a Summer Dress in the Fall

Adding an edgy jacket and boots makes it perfectly appropriate for this time of year. Its also a great way to breathe new life into an existing piece in your wardrobe. I must admit, I’m just as surprised as you are that a printed dress could be a wardrobe staple. But I’ve gotten a ridiculous amount of milage out of this piece.

I can’t recommend adding a fun mixed print dress like this enough. They work for everything from the more formal to the more casual. Date night to work events. And when you have a closet full of neutrals like I do, it can be a much needed change up!
