Real Girl Style: What I really wear…
Before I started this blog I was a stay at home mom who was literally bursting at the seams to get out and put on some real clothes. You see, prior to starting a family I studied fashion and lived and worked briefly in New York. It was and always will be, my passion. But fashion gave way to a successful and lucrative career in finance. And then finance gave way to marriage and family. While I loved being home with my children it wasn’t long before I became desperate for some balance in my life. I needed a space that was mine. A place to be creative, to push my boundaries, to connect with others who shared my passions, and to learn again. Wishes & Reality has become just that, and so much more.
And while I totally look forward to dressing to the nines for blogging events and dinners and date nights, my every day real girl style is much more casual. I’ve talked before about how blogging has helped me to define my personal style, but its also helped me find the balance between comfy and practical, and cute and put together. And now that spring has officially arrived, I’m super excited to break out of boots and into sandals! I mean seriously, how good does it feel that first time you step outside sans socks?
The Most Versatile Sandals
I’ve been wearing Birkenstock’s for as long as remember and they’re about as classic as a sandal can get. They are like the denim jacket of shoes. Thrown them on with anything from a sundress to wide leg trousers to your favorite jeans and they instantly give you that stylish without trying to hard feel. Its the kind of look that I always feel most confident in.
What’s your “Real Girl Style”? Do you have an item in your closet that you can’t wait to pull out with the new season?
