The Statement Coat
I’ve long wished for a leopard faux fur coat. There is something so glamourous, so chic about a statement coat. As a busy mom, I knew it wouldn’t be something I’d wear every day, so I resisted making the purchase. Then one day, after seeing this cozy and luxe jacket pop up again on Instagram, I did a quick Google search. You know, just for fun. Well two hours of browsing later, I had ordered this beauty. It was my first Miss Selfridge purchase and I’m obsessed. In fact, I also purchased the star booties seen in this post. Its pretty safe to say that I’ll be making many more purchases from Miss Selfridge.
How to wear Leopard
It would be easy for such an oversized jacket to swallow one up, so I kept the rest of my outfit pretty simple: skinny jeans, a lace blouse and my new favorite pumps. (Read more on these beauties in this post.) While my exact coat has sadly sold out there are tons of similar options that I’ve linked above and luckily for you they’re all on sale. And if you’re petite and worried about how such a long, bulky jacket will look on your frame, rest assured. I’ve found a super adorable and petite-friendly version for under $70!
I love the idea of doing some print mixing with this coat too. A black and white striped turtleneck, boyfriend jeans and black booties would be super chic. I’d also style this with a graphic tee for an edgy-glam look. Or with black cropped pants and velvet pumps. Really I could go on and on. And truly, for something that I didn’t think would get a lot of wear, this beauty has been on heavy rotation. How would you style a leopard or statement coat? Leave your ideas in the comments!
