Minimalist to the Max
One of the perks of blogging is that it has helped me to identify my personal style. Mostly I consider myself to be a minimalist; I tend to gravitate toward modern classics in a neutral palette. It’s all about being able to throw on something simple and stylish, yet comfortable, and having those key mix and match pieces in your wardrobe.
However, many equate minimalism with boring. The thought is that its too easy to get into a rut, wearing the same things over and over again. I actually find the opposite to be true as I am constantly inspired to create new combinations simply by shopping my closet or a a quick scroll through my Pinterest feed.
Pieces like a leather miniskirt feel edgy, but will never go out of style. And an oversized grey turtleneck sweater in a light weight knit can be style countless different ways. As it gets colder, I’d pair this exact outfit with over the knee boots and a wool camel-colored overcoat.
The trick in keeping minimalism interesting is in the styling. Don’t be afraid to mix silhouettes and play with different textures. Think leather paired with chunky knits or denim paired with a tailored jacket. Layers and accessories are key in adding interest. Minimalist fashionistas always have an arsenal of scarves, sunglasses and delicate layered jewelry. This isn’t to say there isn’t room for fun statement-making pieces in your wardrobe, its just to demonstrate that minimalism is anything but mundane. For more proof, simply scroll on:)
