Happy Halloween! Halloween has to be my favorite holiday of the the year. I love decorating, dressing up, carving pumpkins with the kids, and, of course, the candy. I’m not in costume for this post today but I am stepping a bit outside of my comfort zone.
Florals for Fall; Now That’s Groundbreaking
I think it has been well established that I am not one who typically gravitates toward florals, but with dark floral dresses serving as one of fall’s biggest trends even I have begun to come around. Lately I’ve been tempted (more often than I’d like to admit} to spend way more than I should on a higher-end designer dress. But rather than splurge I found this floral swing dress from Old Navy. The silhouette is super flattering, the print so perfect for fall and the price tag impossible to beat. The trick is to style this dress to look more expensive than it really is!
Don’t Judge a Book by its Cover
My dress cost under $20 but I was able to elevate the look by adding more luxe items such as a lace collar and striking over the knee boots. Adding layers around any dress can elevate the overall feel of the style. And balancing any look with hi-low styling is always a good idea and creates a look that appears more expensive than it actually is. As the weather cools, I also plan to style this dress layered over skinny jeans with a cozy cardigan.
And Old Navy is one of my go-to stops for on-trend pieces and affordable, quality basics.
I hope you have a safe and happy Halloween!
