So much of summer seems to be about bright colors and fun prints, and while I love how many pull them off I’m still a neutrals girl at heart. One the former hard and fast rules of fashion was to never pair white with off-white. Well, no more. Just as no white after Labor Day no longer reigns, pairing cool white with its warmer counter parts has also become not only acceptable, but chic.
I love a perfectly distressed pair of white skinny jeans. Adding a slouchy oatmeal colored sweater with a similarly hued bralette creates a look that’s perfect for a date night, a concert, wine tasting…so many fun summer activities! Cozy, comfy and subtly sexy; one of my favorite combinations.
White jeans have become a year-round staple for me. In the winter, they look great paired with cozy grey, black and navy sweaters, but come the summer months I’m all about white and bright. This slouchy sweater is available in 6 colors {each $25 and under} and all would be gorgeous with white denim!
And now about the business of summer…
In my last post I mentioned my frustrations with all of the fall and Halloween decorations that are already popping up in stores. But seeing these early signs have fall have made me realize how fleeting this summer has been. The kids are home on break for less than 3 more weeks and I am going to enjoy every moment! Beach, picnics, park, staying up late and sleeping in.
Are you planning anything special in these final weeks of summer? Help me come up with some fun ideas!
