Today I’m bringing you ruffles, rips and a whole lot of blue! I’ve always gravitated toward shades of blue {another example here} and I love pairing different hues to create a monochromatic look. I also love how this frilly, yet structured blouse dresses up my boyfriends. It’s an interesting combination that’s easy to create.
Day to night…
Often times we think of swapping out our top or accessories to create a day to night look. This look demonstrates that it’s just as easy to swap out a pair of black trousers or a pencil skirt for your favorite boyfriend jeans! How fun would this outfit be for a girls night out or even a casual date night? I just love the combination of feminine ruffles with edgier ripped denim. The ruffles and fuller silhouette would also pair really nicely with a darker flared denim.
The best boyfriends:
Boyfriend jeans have become a closet workhorse for me. My particular pair of boyfriends are from Target {who has an incredible denim selection that I would highly recommend!}. But the #NSale is chalk full of awesome options as well. I just ordered this pair. I love the distressing {a must} and the cropped, frayed hem.
Dressing in a monochromatic palette also means its easy to add fun accessories and make them the star of the show. These pink sunnies have been on repeat all summer, and although my exact pair is sold out, I linked an equally cute pair that are just $11! I’m also completely smitten with this gorgeous marble cuff that somehow manages to be delicate yet statement making {get an extra 10% off with code WISHESANDREALITY}.
What’s this about fall?
It’s just now August, right? So what’s all of this business of halloween decorations popping up in every store?! And I’m just as excited about all my new NSale purchases as the next gal, but you better believe I won’t be breaking them out anytime soon! I mean its like 100% humidity every single day! So while I promise fall posts will be coming soon enough. Not. Just. Yet.
