Happy Monday guys! Today I’m bringing you an outfit inspired by the print mixing trend, which is everywhere lately. I’m not one to pair a super bold floral print with stripes, although many of you look fantastic in that exact combination, but when this adorable striped cap sleeve dress from Choies arrived, I knew it would be perfect with a black and white polka dot neck scarf {another huge of the moment trend}. Together they make a subtle minimalist statement, that is still super wearable.
I added simple heels and a pop of color with a luxe-looking red quilted clutch. Fun, statement making accessories paired with a neutral palette are a great way to elevate an outfit and make it look more high end.
How was your weekend? Saturday was unbearably hot {nothing a jump in the pool won’t fix:)}, but Sunday was beautiful in Chicago and we spent tons of time outside! Today, we head west on our annual road trip and I’m super excited to unplug and relax with my family. Every year we pack up the car and drive to western South Dakota, where I grew up and stay a week or two in the house I grew up in.
Its something I look forward to very much because its just so cool to see my own children playing and exploring the very places that I did as a child. Its also great to just let go for a couple of weeks. I still plan to do some blogging and social media posts, but I’m going to try to be more relaxed about the whole thing. I’m also going to be posting on Snapchat, something I’ve been pretty hilariously inconsistent with. You can follow along on our adventures at wishes_reality, if you’d like!
And I’ll definitely be packing this dress too. I think it will be perfect with flat sandals and a cute crossbody for a more casual look.
How about you? Any fun vacation plans coming up?
