Hi guys! It’s been a while since I’ve done a “Life Lately” type of post, where I share some behind the scenes peeks via Instagram, as well as what I’m into these days: what I’m shopping, eating {see below for my review of Sullivan’s Steakhouse, trust me, its a must try!}, reading and blogging about.

I couldn’t be more excited to break out open toe shoes! The pair I’m wearing in the above photo is from 2 years ago, but I’ve linked a super similar pair that also comes in a ton of colors!

cherry blossoms, spring in chicago

With spring in full swing here in Chicago, there’s been a lot of outside time and even though, it isn’t what you’d call warm yet, the trees are beyond beautiful. A much needed respite after a dreary winter.

A couple of weeks ago I had the opportunity to visit Sullivan’s Steakhouse at their Naperville location to try out their new spring menu and it did not disappoint. Chicago, being a true midwestern city, has more than it’s fair share steakhouses and it can, at times, be difficult to differentiate the good from the not so good.

Sullivan’s, however is not to be missed; it’s definitely my favorite steakhouse this spring! Located at the heart of downtown Naperville, it the perfect spot for a quiet date night, a family evening out, or post-work cocktails.

I started with their signature martini, The Knockout, which is a blend of clementine and pineapple flavors and the perfect refreshing cocktail for spring. Being huge seafood lovers we couldn’t pass up the Seafood Sampler platter with included cracked stone crab claws, giant cocktail shrimp, alaskan king crab and oysters on the half shell. I felt like we were in coastal Maine!Sullivans-spring-menu

The hubby had tender and flavorful filet mignon for dinner with garlic mashed potatoes and I enjoyed the broiled salmon Rockefeller with fresh sautéed spinach, crabmeat, béarnaise sauce and crisp bacon, proving that Sullivan’s is so much more than just tender cuts of beef.

We finished our meal with peanut butter black-bottom pie, which may have been the highlight of our meal! I’d highly recommend visiting Sullivan’s this spring and indulging in any, or all, of these dishes!

Way, way too much shopping lately! Recent purchases include the perfect nude open toe bootiesan effortlessly cool white lace up blousea wear anywhere shirt dressa bold and Gucci-esque crossbody pouch, and a neutral sweater with lace up detail {I think I have a bit of a thing for lace up details lately!}.

This week has been all about spring in the city! The trees are in full bloom and its been so great to get out and enjoy these days. On Monday we explored Millennium Park in the loveliest combo midi dress and on Wednesday, we wondered the gardens at The Art Institute in the rain.

What are you up to this weekend? I’d love to hear!
