Let’s talk beauty and hair today! I’m so excited to introduce all of my Chicago friends to JOOJ Blow Dry, a mobile “at your service” blow out and hair style hub, based in one amazingly chic Airstream trailer.
JOOJ is so innovative. Its on-the-go service treats Chicago-area women to a relaxing and accessible respite and I walked out with not only a beautiful blowout, but also a confidence boost. Its amazing how a good hair day, can turn a regular day into so much more! After leaving JOOJ, I met some girl friends for lunch and everyone commented at how healthy, bouncy and fabulous my hair looked! And later in the day, when my husband headed out for date night, I felt so much more confident and pulled together.
Inspired by the fashion term, “Tszuj” and the notion that a quick primp can turn familiar into fabulous, JOOJ Blow Dry debuts a comprehensive blow dry experience that enhances a woman’s appearance and outlook. Housed in luxuriously customized Airstream trailers, JOOJ Blow Dry launched its mobile experience this past December in the North Shore, visiting corporate offices, hotels, event sites, the streets of downtown, private events, and more.
The sleek mobile blow dry trailer, decorated in black and white with pops of turquoise, is appointed with comfy couches, electronic magazines and killer espresso. My stylist, the lovely Maricela, first asked me questions about how I typically style my hair, products I use and how frequently I wash. I was due for a shampoo on the day of my visit so sorry no “before” photos this time! Then she got right to work, shampooing and conditioning my hair, complete with a luxurious scalp massage.
*Quick tip: If you’re like me and try to go a few days between washes, when you do shampoo, be sure and wash twice. This ensures that all the build up is removed and the hair is completely cleaned. I was not doing this and only washing once and my hair just never felt clean. This has made a huge difference and even elongated the number of days that I can go between shampoos.
After my hair was washed and ready, Maricela got to work blow drying and styling. I couldn’t believe how she completely smoothed the hair at the root using only her fingers and without pulling and breaking with a brush!
One of the coolest features of my experience with JOOJ, was their electronic magazines. Of course I caught up on an article about how Cameron Diaz has embraced aging and how she takes care of her body. Super interesting and now I love her even more.
This is the life…I asked if they would consider parking in front of my house for a few months. Still waiting to hear back on that…
