How to Style Culottes: Spring’s It Pant Silhouette

Happy Hump Day!  Earlier this week, Ashley and I got together for what’s become a fun weekly photo shoot and I’m telling you, the stars aligned. The weather was gorgeous {meaning it was sunny and not sub-zero} and the location proved to be pretty spectacular. There is nothing like shooting in an epic space and the Chicago Field Museum fits the bill. Grand pillars, marble stair cases and huge sweeping views of the city, If you are ever in the Chicago area be sure to get to the museum campus. The architecture alone is spectacular. {see Ashley’s post here}

With such a fabulous location, I wanted some thing that would complement the angles of the structure. This cascading ruffle sweater and wide-leg culottes seemed like the perfect fit. I love the simplicity of the outfit, and the culottes have a very modern feel, yet still work well with the ruffles on the sweater. A classic heel and my new favorite Chloé ‘Drew’ dupe complete the look.

How is everyone’s week going? I’m telling you, these days I feel like I could use a few bonus hours tacked on to my days in order to get it all done. I posted an article last Friday about women who “have it all”, meaning they both have a career, or work, and have a family and how hard it really is. I have long thought that having it all is really kind of a sham, because its really hard to run a house, and raise children {i.e. more than a full time job}, tack on an outside career and its damn near impossible to meet expectation, much less make anyone’s day. Not that I’m complaining. I am SO freaking lucky to be able to be home with my kids and pursue my passions and very fortunate to be making a small income. But it isn’t easy. What are your thoughts? Have you mastered the art of multi-tasking? I’d love to hear any organizational tips! #thestruggleisreal

Thanks so much for reading!
