Last week the frigid temperatures didn’t stop Ashley and I from hitting the streets to snap some photos on the Mag Mile. The urban scene was the perfect back drop for some fun ‘street style’ shots where I got to pretend I was an off-duty model! Riiiight. But seriously, there is something so effortlessly chic about a monochromatic black outfit. It provides a completely clean palette to make your own. And it doesn’t take much to elevate it to something more high style.
Here, I took a chunky knit and faux leather leggings and added clean white adidas, a fun lace blouse and a cozy knit beanie. The devil is in the details and the stark contrast between the black and white as well as the edginess of the leather and more feminine lace transform this look into anything but basic.
And can we talk about these lace bell sleeves? SheIn calls this a dress but I was surprised to find its actually separates – a high waisted skirt and a cropped blouse. Initially a little put off, but after playing around with the pieces I found that this actually made them more versatile! I can’t wait to show you the skirt in a future outfit post!
Thanks so much for stopping by!
