Football playoff season is underway, and the big game is just around the corner. That means but one thing: We must all begin planning the awesome and dangerous food-based architecture that is the Snack Stadium. What? You’ve never heard of a Snack Stadium?
1 large roasting pan
3 deep storage containers (9″x6.5″)
1 mini loaf pan (3.19″x5.63″) – I used this to make the football shaped salsa dish and just reshaped it with my hands.
1 cookie sheet with a 1 inch lip (I had one in my kitchen already)
*these sizes and shapes are flexible and you can also use pans you might have in your cupboards as well.
I used one of the 9″x6.5″ storage containers and centered it in the roasting pan. I spread guacamole in the middle (recipe here) and TOSTITOS® Chunky Salsa on the sides to make “end zones”.
Then I added TOSTITOS® around the outside of the guac and salsa dish in the roasting pan. You could also add fresh veggies like carrots, celery and pepper strips.
Next I created a football shaped salsa dish using one of the mini loaf pans and just shaped it with my hands. I also added 2 more of the 9″x6.5″ storage containers on each end of the roasting pan to create “press boxes”.
Then I filled them with my favorite candy bars: SNICKERS® and spread my other favorite candy, Skittles® all over the cookie sheet. Its pretty amazing what a unique and creative snack you can create just by combining some of your favorite snacks and treats! Below are some snaps from my shopping.
Then I used a couple 20 oz. bottles of Pepsi™to attach my “press box” signs and my Snack Stadium was complete! Perfect for the big game. Head to WalMart to pick up all of your game day essentials and build your own Snack Stadium. Find more recipes and inspiration here.
