I know I can’t be alone in my quest for the fountain of youth and so far I am coming up empty handed.
If you’re a regular reader of Wishes & Reality you know that I’m no skincare or beauty expert. I rarely discuss my favorite products or my make up routine (or lack thereof). None of the women in my family claim an age past 25, but the fact is, I’m not getting any younger. Lately, I have begun to see changes in my skin that I am not too thrilled about: uneven texture, lines and redness.
For the past few years I have spent countless hours researching skincare products and digging into which products work best for my skin’s needs but I could never fully commit. I always ended up putting a gorgeous handbag or great pair of heels ahead of my skin. It wasn’t until this past summer that I really decided it was time to commit to my skin and invest in a cleansing product that would fit my needs.
As I started to research which cleansing tools worked best a product that I kept coming across in my search was the FOREO Luna and Luna Mini. To be honest, the first thing that caught my eye was how adorable and compact they were, but in the end I kept coming across article after article about this little game-changer. Allure, SELF, InStyle and Glamour all raved about the Luna so I knew I had to give it a try.
So here’s the deal. With the Luna, not only are there no brush heads to change, but the unique, ultra-gentle silicone brush is nonporous, making it 35X more hygienic than than standard cleansing brushes. The compact size is also a major selling point for me. With my frequent travel schedule, I can throw my Luna into the adorable travel pouch and I’m ready to go.
So, what makes Luna products different than other cleansing brushes?
Aside from its size and other hygienic features, the Luna incorporates an 8-speed T-Sonic cleansing system with an innovative anti-aging feature. Three different models are available to cater to specific skin types: sensitive skin, combination skin and ultra-sensitive skin. Luna delivers up to 8,000 pulsations per minute through the soft silicone “bristles” to gently remove and slough off dead skin cells and unclog pores of 99% of dirt and oil residue. Say goodbye to you make up stained towels.
The Luna has two-sided technology to not only cleanse your skin but also fight the signs of aging. The reverse side of the Luna delivers low-frequency pulsations through the wave design directly onto the areas prone to wrinkles, smoothing the appearance of fine lines.
How am I using the Luna?
I usually wash my face as normal unless I am wearing little to no makeup. Then after wetting my face slightly and applying a thin layer of moisturizing cleanser I move the cleansing brush all over the surface of my face and neck. I spend approximately 15 seconds on each section for a total of about a minute. (The Luna pauses after each 15 second interval as an indication that its time to move on.)
The brush and pulsations are so gentle that you can use it daily. Some use the Luna twice a day (morning and night) but I have been using both the brush and the anti-aging side in the evening, followed by my favorite moisturizer.
Honestly, it really is that simple. I can see a change in the texture of my skin and feel a little bit more “glowy” Plus, now that I am removing all of the makeup and daily residue from my skin my makeup seems to go on more smoothly and evenly. And, the best part? No more dry flakey patches.
I’d love to know if you’ve tried the Luna line hear about your experience! And if you are interested in trying the Luna
