This past weekend, I was invited by SPANX to head to my local Nordstrom to put to the test the newly launched Power Series (the reformulation of the celebrity favorite Power Panty that put SPANX on the map). To celebrate the launch, SPANX and Clinique have teamed up as Beauty Besties, a pairing of everyday essentials for girls on the go available exclusively at Nordstrom through May.
I tried both the Power Shorty and the Higher Power Shorty, and to my surprise loved the Higher Power. You see, I’m not traditionally a fan of shapewear and had yet to jump on the bandwagon. You see, in my mind, I actually make it to the gym every day and am still 21 and have always thought that shapewear kind of seemed like it would almost be painful. It looked constricting and uncomfortable, but I have to tell you, the opposite was true. It simply smoothed me out and was invisible under the gorgeous, but incredibly body-conscious dress that I tried on with them.
This dress was not messing around, you guys. Seriously sexy, but still sophisticated. A total classic. But it showed everything. And not in a good way. Threw on the above mentioned SPANX and I was good to go. Everything was in its place and instead of tugging at the dress, I knew I would be able to just feel confident in it. I will definitely be wearing SPANX to all the weddings and special events I have coming up over the summer.
