Dear Mom,

Dear Mom,

Happy Mother’s Day! Now that I am a mom, I know what it means to love. But thanks to you I also what it means to be loved. I think most days, we are more different than alike. But I learned to be a good person from you. I learned that kindness counts, I learned that I am strong and that I can do anything I set my mind and heart to. I learned about loyalty and how to be resilient.

Thank you for always believing in me. For always seeing the good in others, even when it must have been so hard. Thank you for reading to me. And thank you for your patience. And mostly, thank you for letting me, be me. It is truly your greatest gift and your love and support have helped me in more ways than I could ever name.

I don’t think you ever worried about me too much. I think you pretty much knew I could handle all that life would throw at me. You knew I was stubborn and determined. But you made me kinder, smarter, taught me to learn from mistakes: mine, yours, everyone’s. And now as I watch the world through my children’s eyes, its sort of like I’m watching it through yours too.

I love you, Mom.
