When in doubt, wear black. This is pretty much what I say to myself anytime I’m getting ready and can’t make a decision or feel the dreaded “I have absolutely nothing to wear”. All black will make you appear taller, thinner, more pulled together and polished, and more sophisticated. It’s pretty much fail-safe. Plus, it makes it easier to combine textures or trends into one look. For example, here, I’ve combined feminine ruffles and a quilted bag, with edgier distressed denim and moto boots.
