Happy Hour for 2
One of my favorite weeknight traditions with my hubby is happy hour at home. After the kids go to bed, we love to curl up on the couch with a glass of wine and catch up on our day or watch TV. Doing this has helped keep us connected and makes every day feel like “date night”. Continue Reading

Veggie Lunch on the Go!
Today, I am so excited to once again be partnering with MorningStar Farms® to bring you a healthier weekday lunch idea! A DIY Mason jar salad is perfect solution to a busy day. During the week, I’m always on the go so I usually make a couple of these early in the week and have them ready to grab and eat. This saves me from skipping lunch and gives me plenty of energy to get through my day. Continue Reading

I’m certain I’m not the only one who overindulged over the holiday weekend! After too many second (and, who am I kidding, third!) helpings of apple pie and mashed potatoes, I’m feeling like I need to make some healthier food choices in the coming weeks. However, as a busy mom who’s always on the go, making healthier choices isn’t always easy. Continue Reading

My single favorite tradition of the holiday season is the white elephant gift exchange my family hosts every year. The gifts range from small, yet thoughtful to silly, over-the-top gag gifts. Over the years I’ve walked away from the exchange with a set of coffee mugs, a portable cooler and a silly hat that my kids still love to play with, just to name a few. With the holidays fast approaching, I thought it would be fun to create a post about this lively holiday tradition. Continue Reading

Fall is now officially upon us and the temperatures are starting to cool. In fact yesterday it was 40 degrees when I woke up! Thankfully it won’t be staying quite that cold! This time of year, one of my favorite things to do is get back into the kitchen and cook. And nothing says fall quite like a steaming hot bowl of flavorful soup. Today I’m rounding up 9 of my favorite soup recipes that I adore most, and that also feel the most fitting for this time of year. Continue Reading
After our recent trip to Floria and all of the delectable seafood dishes I sampled, I was left longing for more. Sadly, fresh and delicious seafood can be difficult to find here in the Midwest. However, shrimp is an option that can be found everywhere and, if high quality, tastes fresh even when its been frozen. Because of this I’ve been whipping up everything from shrimp tacos to shrimp pasta. But above all other dishes, this easy Mexican-style shrimp cocktail is by far my favorite! Continue Reading
I LOVE to cook. I was a bit of a late bloomer in the kitchen and didn’t really start to enjoy cooking until I had children. And I started basic. Pasta is a great place to start and a great pasta salad is a summer staple at our house.
