Makeup Updates for the New Year
With the start of the new year, I decided it’s time for an update on my beauty routine! This winter has been a dry one and it’s wreaking havoc on my skin. I hate putting on all of my makeup only to realize that it’s only serving to emphasize my dry flaky skin and making me look older than I am. The worst.
So in addition to seeking out hydrating and exfoliating cleansers and moisturizers, I’ve also been on the hunt for makeup that will keep my skin hydrated throughout the day. Makeup that will help me to cover up imperfections, but also work to improve my skin.
Makeup that is good for your skin?
So I was very intrigued when I was asked to test out Neutrogena’s new Hydro Boost cosmetics. Hydro Boost hydrating tint, lip shine and concealer all contain hyaluronic acid and boast lip-quenching conditioning. Hydro Boost hydrating foundation is actually better for your skin than wearing no makeup at all! I’ve long loved Hyaluronic Acid and always use moisturizers that contain this ingredient. Naturally found in skin, hyaluronic acid draws water to the skin and helps prevent moisture loss.
And while I don’t wear makeup everyday, these products take just moments to put on. Plus, what’s better than makeup that is good for your skin?!
Day to day I don’t wear a a lot of make up, but I have reached an age where (ahem) I feel my best if I take the time to apply a couple of products. Lately, my go-to’s have been Neutrogena’s Hydro Boost hydrating tint, concealer and lip gloss. Add a little mascara and I’m good to go!
I love that the Hydro Boost concealer has a moisturizing core, that keeps my under eye area hydrated.
There was a time that I wore very little makeup under my eyes. It always seemed to make the area look “crepe-y” or settle into lines. No more. The Hydro Boost concealer hydrates all day and stays looking fresh. I’ve been reaching for this concealer over all of my department store brands.
Did you know that your lips are a part of your body that can make you look older than you really are?
Maybe my favorite product from the line is the hydrating lip shine. It keeps my lips soft and hydrated and even makes them feel a little more “plumped” than usual. Caring for your lips is so important and can actually make you appear younger!
Even though this is a sponsored post, this is my very honest review. I have been using these products daily and am really loving them. The foundation keeps me looking fresh faced and wears beautifully, the concealer doesn’t cake or settle into fine lines, and the gloss leaves a subtle tint and is very moisturizing. My favorite is the shade Velvet Wine. Its the perfect subtle berry shade for winter, just the right amount of bold but still really wearable for day. This is truly a line that make me feel my best and I love that its makeup that is good for your skin! I purchased these products at Walmart, where you can also shop the Neutrogena Hydro Boost skin care line. And if your skin veers more toward oily or acne-prone, be sure to check out Neutrogena’s Skin Clearing line.
